A vote incentive for my comic, Earthsong [link] , this appeared there on Sept 9th, 2012 along with this description:

"You might have noticed on the internets that it was the 20th anniversary of Batman the Animated Series last week. This makes me feel OLD. It also made me a bit nostalgic as I consider the Animated version of Batman to be "MY" Batman, if you know what I mean. All the other incarnations are interesting in their own right, but that one is canon in my head. But that doesn't mean I don't like mucking around with his costume design/character myself ;)

I wanted to mash up the 1920's and Batman - say he had been a private eye (keeping with the vigilante aspect of him) back then, what would he look like? I think he'd have kept the mask and the anonymity, but not the cape and cowl. His nickname "the Batman" would have been a press creation inspired by the odd double feathered fedora that he wore. Maybe the extra feather had been stuck in there by the Joker as a gag or maybe even the Penguin during a tussle and he decided to keep it once the press started calling him Batman.

I have obviously put simultaneously too much and too little thought into this. "

I'm not a huge Batman fan, but I agree with you that Kevin Conroy is THE BATMAN! I like Adam West too, but Conroy is the Batman I'll ever think as cool!

Definitely! They're a quintessential part of the Batman character :D I didn't think of any era-specific ones though, since they weren't going to show in the art.
